US Adoption Group Ireland was founded with the intention of encouraging links and peer support for Irish families formed through adoption from the USA. Currently there are over 100 US-born children who have been adopted into Ireland and we have at least 50 families in our group.

These links are so important for our families; they allow our children to know others who share a similar story. As they grow, we hope the group will empower them to share their feelings about being adopted with their peers, and support each other through the years. Our gathering allows our children to connect in a fun place, celebrate their rich heritage and will give us all happy memories for the future.

For our adoptive parents, we hope the connections we make with each other through USAG will create a supportive community. This will be of benefit to us as we navigate the rewards and
challenges of parenting our adopted children as they grow and mature.

If you have adopted a child from America, please drop us a line. We organise at least two country-wide events a year (to celebrate Independence Day and Thanksgiving), and some smaller regional groups meet up more frequently.
